Post subject: I'm such a chicken

I quit playing SH4 a LONG time ago...I was at the part where you come back in the room and the hauntings start...the windows...I just couldn't take it.

I was kinda high when I played SH4 for the first time. The green stuff.
Anyways when I got to the hauntings I started tripping out. A little to
much for me at the time. Many of these where things that had scared
me when I was younger. Don't worry about it. It is O.K.

Don't feel bad. I stopped playing Silent Hill 2 before I even got to the first bad guy.
It took me a week before I tried again.

I recommend you keep trying. SH4 is a pretty good game, and if you stop now, you'll be missing out in a lot of the story.

Yeah, first monster I saw in SH2 apartment, and I was about done.

The thing is, the monsters didn't freak me out as much as that I saw the bigass shadows that they cast on the walls before I saw them.

Heh. I'm not scared of the monsters... I'm scared of the FUCKING NOISES! Y'know the echoy Water Prison? With the wall men? Fucking hell. That scared me shitless. I had to call my older sister over to protect me. I'm pretty lame when it comes to that, but I make myself feel better by saying "they're pixals and the noises of the ghosts and wall men is just an old guy taped taking a crap and then edited into the game.

Doesn't that make everything seem better?

It took me a long time to play Silent Hill. Silent Hill 1's alternate hospital scared the shit out of me.
Silent Hill 2's pyramid head thingy, sounds and monsters make me squirm.
Silent Hill 3's Sounds will always haunt me.
Silent Hill 4's was a bit to fucking much. XD Kind of....freaked me out. I finished it though, good story.

Oh, yeah. The noises are by far the worst. D:

And yeah...in the prison. The guard walking around in the middle
(while you're in the cells) always gave me the creeps. Expecially the
second time you go there. (Doesn't it stop in front of 'your' cell
sometimes as well? Urgh...)
Not only that, but many of the noises in the apartment building,
second time round. All the 'birthing' noises (or that's what they
sounded like to me) and eerily beautiful music really got to me.

Of course, there was the prison in SH2. That wins my vote for scariest
noises in any of them. I walked very, very, slowly down that cell block...
and of course it was creepier when nothing was there.

As for things in the game that really scared me?

SH1 -The school children, as shadows.
-The fourth floor of Alchemilla hospital
-The wheelchair, squeaking in the alley.
Sh2-Meeting Pyramid Head in the labyrinth. Or, avoiding
him, since the fear of meeting him was worse than actually seeing him.
-The face door
-The Day Room, alternate Brookhaven Hospital. The shadows cast
in that room by the pillars terrified me.
-The pictures in the alternate Brookhaven.
-The noises in the prison.
Sh3-The mirror room
-The diaries in the alternate Brookhaven Hospital
-The picture of Heather you find, in the alternate buildings.
Sh4-First and formost, the closet haunting.
-The footsteps in the prison

Those are just the things that immediatly come to mind...

It took a friend of mine more than a year to complete Silent Hill 2. Despite playing almost several days a weak. He never even thought about playing SH3 and 4... And I'm actually happy about that. After seeing him playing SH2 I don't think he could possibly haev survived #4.

Only scared myself in the fourth one, after finishing it. I vanglorious said "this was the game?". I was really mad at Konami for the time being, I wasn´t accepting it as a SH game, but eventually, with more play throughs, I started to enjoy it and now I like it. Even though I never scared myself.

The one bit that creeped me out was in the 'hospital' where you meet eileen. I went through one of the doors wondering why the camera wouldnt let me see down the end of the corridor......then I ran straight into that huge face. Christ, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that. Also, where the ceiling came down and stopped just above henrys head.
