I know I haven't played SH 1, but something confuses me. I seen an ending of SH 1 where he is dragged down by Lisa. I was wondering, why? Is he really a bad person? I don't mind spoliers. :?
Michael Kauffman was using Lisa the nurse to take
care of Allessa. He got her hooked on White Cluadia(potent local drug)
in order to control her and keep her from running and informing
the authorities. At some point he killed Lisa out of fear that she would
escape. Comes back for revenge, as you saw, and gives Micky a
special present/gift. Death! Does that explain it for you enough?
That's all theory. There's no evidence that Kaufmann is specifically responsible for her PTV-dependency or her death.

I only stated what I felt the game implies. Guess I should have stated that
huh? Do note though that this is the most commonly accepted theory.

I only mentioned it because I really don't believe most of it, primarily because the game doesn't exactly imply it.

With Alessa being presumed dead, do you honestly think a nurse who took care of her would be allowed to leave or tell anyone? Lisa was a prisoner of Michael Kauffman.

I think that the biggest pointer here is that Lisa did kill Kaufman
(or so we are led to believe) thus there must have been some
reason. I mean it just seems so obvious. She obviously had
a death wish for the man. The pill bottles, the police reports,
the notes(let me pull them up as attached links) just point towards
it.

Lisa was as alive as Harrold, albeit with no outsider help and a heavy burden to carry Refer to this: http://www.silenthillforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=649

Cutie? O_o What is Lisa, 14?

Anyway, I disagree with you Tommy. I think the game implies quite heavily that Kaufmann is responsible for Lisa's condition.

1) Kaufmann was most definitely an associate of Dahlia's, and he would be the one taking care of Alessa's health care at Alchemilla.

2) Lisa's savage killing of Kaufmann is indication enough in my eyes that there was something between them.

3) Kaufmann was also central in The Order's supply of White Claudia. As we know, whoever was forcing Lisa yo look after Alessa was supplying her with the drug. Who better than Kaufmann?

So what we have is a probable link between White Claudia (which Lisa was hooked on), Kaufmann, Alessa's post-fire health care, coupled with Lisa coming out of nowhere after she falls apart just to kill Kaufmann.

Not to mention in one of the scenes from the intro movie, you see Lisa trying to walk out of the hospital (like she always wanted to do before, but was to scared and confused to attempt), then you see Kaufmann who stops her (of course he didn't wanted her to leave, in fear that she would call the cops and tell them about the drugs and Alessa). You could interpret the scene that Lisa as had enough of been used by Kaufmann and the cult, so she reveled against them, tried to leave the hospital but Kaufmann stops her, they probably argued a little before he finally kills her.

We know from the videotape and the intro FMV that there is animosity between Kaufmann and Lisa. That Kaufmann killed Lisa is an unsubstantiated hypothesis, widely accepted only for lack of better information.

Silent Hill Origins may reveal the truth.

Kaufman's fate went deservingly. Lisa did what she did in revenge (Go Lisa!:D).
However, I'm not sure that it was really "lisa" who dragged in the abyss

Well, we know that lisa is only alessa's memory, i'm sure the REAL drug addict Lisa wouldn't have dragged kaufman to the bowels of hell......she seemed to nice to do that :D

i think she wouldve purely for revenge...

and besides, the lisa we knew was being controlled, was on white claudia, and being that 'puppet nurse' (sorta and this is all assumptions, people!)... who knows what her real intentions were

you're totally right......someone as sweet as the caretaker (lisa), doesn't strike me as someone to kill anything.......even in revenge......i wouldn't kill anyone out of spite/revenge......(i hope  )
