The final battle had to be the lamest fight in the series. Not only did they skimp out on necessary movie sequences, (Just how exactly did he use the umbilical cord?) But it was far too easy. And this isn't comming from a cocky perspective, this is comming from a guy who let his little sister beat the game on Normal not dying once. The whole thing was more than dissapointing.

What did you all think of the fight?

I really want people to stop with this game. Really. Really really really really. jsdl But I'll edit my post so it's valid.

I thought the last fight was a nice break from the other final bosses.. since there's so much that had to be done and it was hectic, whatwith Eileen gimp-walking towards her doom, Walter chasing after you and stuff. It was interesting to say the least.

It's not a dig at you, and I even ammended my previous comment if that helps any because you're actually promoting a discussion around it, not just using this chance to vent about the game, but every few weeks or so there's a post about someone talking about how disappointing/bad/shitty/odd SH4 was, and that it was based too much on action. And yet these are normally the same people who say RE4 was awesome and SH4 should have been more like it, not realizing that they kind of just inserted their foots into their mouths (RE series is known for action, SH4 was made with a focus on action, thus...)

Anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyway. Yeah. The last boss was, to say the least, an interesting take off of previous boss fights, but while it's different it doesn't mean it was necessarily good.

Thats the problem with most fans in any game. They are afraid of change. And once it happens, they don't give it a chance through unbiased eyes. They say, "Why did they do that?!" and hate it. This is why the Resident Evil movie didnt survive.

I know exactly how you feel.

I liked the last boss fight.
It was nice to have a boss fight that wasn't DIRECTLY on the lines of "hit it in the head a billion times and hope it dies"
...that all my life I've been rushing up and down hills, leaping rivers, crashing over obstacles,
never dreaming that one day that beautiful thing in flight would land on this earth and into my arms

I really liked the boss fight too. It was different and unique to any previous SH boss fight. Many things you had to worry about, inserting the umbilical cord, using the spears from the walls to weaken the boss, avoiding Walter's shadow AND watching Eileen walking to her death.

Even though 4 is my least favorite in the series (I don't hate it, I just don't love it as much as the others) I liked the final battle. Granted, it would have been nice to have a cutscene when using the umbilical cord (like when Kaufman threw the aglaophotis ... sp? at Alessa) but the added challenge of killing the boss before Eileen offs herself was quite a thrill; it was one of my favorite parts of the game.

Eh, I'm going to have to agree, I liked it. If I really want to be picky, the only thing that bothered me was that, um, thing in the middle. I suppose it just seemed out of place, and seemed rather sci-fi.

Really though? It was nice to have a boss that required more than shoot, run, rinse, repeat. Besides, the uterus(?) room was wicked.

Uhm...I can't really say I didn't like any of the SH's ending battles, they all made sense, and it was, interesting...SH4's ending wasn't any better, than the others, it being the newest installment and all, but I woudn't call it lame, my opinion of course, you may have your own say in the matter....It tied in with the whole story and it made sense...I imagine that's what most of you want, me of course being one of you...Some games start out awesome, and scary, and at the end boss, it just get's overly boring...

I loved the whole concept of the last boss fight. That pool of blood, the Conjurer´s body, the possessed Eileen...

I didn't have a problem with it. I had more trouble with Eileen during the last fight then I did the final boss it's self. :P

Kept me entertained. I thought the added intensity with
eileen walking towards her doom, as well as the easy
but fun stabbing of the beast with spears made it plenty
fun. Yes, the game is different but still it needs love.

I thought the final battle was one of the most enjoyable aspects in a slightly below-par SH game. I'm not a huge fan of the boss fights in any of the SH games, but this one seemed a refreshing change.

i thought it was a pretty good last battle. it was different thats for sure, and i just think it was a challenge, particularly if eileen is really injured.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy.

I like it. I think it was pretty creative with Eileen walking down to her sacrifice.

C'mon, that last fight is great!! You have to prepare a ritual (In a really simple way, I know) while Walter's ghost is chasing you and the stress of watch Eyleen walking to her death is picking you while you have to pick the spears in your items in real time!!! I also was hoping BIG MONSTER like the previous games but this last battle was really funny and stressing (Again, just try to save Eylen in the HARD mode... Is a pain in the ass)

I love this final battle... The real truth boss also is creative... Is a shame that this game wouldn't have more bosses; their concept were very funny...

Well comparing the final boss fight to the rest of the games i actually like Silent Hill 4's better b/c

*Warning Do not read yon spoiler mark unless you have completed silent hill 1-3, Ye have been warned*
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
in the first one you fought the demi god right? 13 shots from a hunting rifle shouldn't kill no demi god same goes for Maria/Mary boss in two Three's boss confused me but you have to realize it's the same Mother effer from the first one just poppin out sumbody else
But in Silent Hill 4 you actually had to weaken the creature and then kill the one who started all the mess, just makes the most sense to me that's all
