 Post subject: Happy 31st Birthday!

In the locker room of the hospital, during the Happy Birthday phone call, the man mentions that it is Heather's 31st birthday. I've forgotten, how does he come up with this number, again? And why does he later say, "Today's your 24th birthday", as well?

I know it has something to do with the ages of Alessa, Cheryl and Heather but.. I've forgotten.

17 is the coming of age for the mother of God.

Alessa burnt at 7, too young, creates Cheryl. Alessa ages to 14 before Cheryl is 7 returned to her, connecting body and soul, creating an entity that is 21. Or...17+7...Although Alessa is only 14 and too young, once combining, they become plenty old enough to become the mother of God.

Basically, Alessa should by SH3 be 31, if she had survived.

Wait... Alessa was alive in Sh1? I thought she was dead by then, but she manifested throughout silent hill.

And I'm confused about Heather...Heather IS cheryl, but she dyed her hair and lost her memories? Eep. I'm not even a noob. Might as well be though.

>Alessa was alive in Sh1?
Yes. She was comatose, thus alive.

>Heather IS cheryl, but she dyed her hair and lost her memories?
Kind of. Not really. Just about.

Heather is the Re-Incarnated form of Cheryl, who in turn was part of Alessa. So she is sort of a combination of those two if Reincarnated. I guess she prefers to be called Cheryl to remember her father. All three of the girls look alike to a great degree, but Harry had her daughter change her name and dye her hair so she did not look like either Alessa or Cheryl after a cult fanatic attacked their home.

So she would be Heaerylessather.....Yeah, it gets confusing xmooglex. You arent the only one, I assure you. And don't feel bad either, happens to the best of us.

To be honest, I found that bloody hilarious. The singing of "Happy Birthday" was supposed to be unnerving, I assume, but it just made me raise my eyebrow and smile a bit. When he said "Happy 24th Birthday" after saying "Happy 31st birthday," I cracked up. I know it's related to the interrelationship of Heather/Alessa/Cheryl, but the way it was presented made me laugh for a good long time. It was a nice change, since SH3 was the first Silent Hill I played, and the "otherworld" Brookhaven kept my muscles constantly tense and on edge.

The first time I played SH3 through, this was a part where I had to give up playing for a little while, because I was SO freaked out. Besides the "Happy Birthday" part, the other part in that scene that scared me was the "You can have what you hate the most". Little cryptic things like that scare me so badly.
