Occupied.

Heather finds out why it's true that you shouldn't talk to strangers. Or look in mirrors, quite honestly.

Occupied.

Post by Liz. »

I checked before posting, and I don't think this has been brought up before. But if it has, please feel free to beat me with the flame stick.

When you first duck into the bathroom to hide from Detective Doo-glas, there's someone in the stall when you knock on the door. Later, when you come back to the bathroom, said someone has disappeared and left behind a bloody latrine. I know this is sort of an insignificant point to bring up, but it's always bothered me. I concluded that with the alternate world transition, she was promptly sucked down the toilet.

It's just a fear effect.

There is a superstition in Japan related to bathrooms. I guess that's why Konami decided to give so much importance to bathrooms.

They didn't get sucked in...that was just a warning to anyone who considered eating at the Happy Burger.

Or they're suggesting a sudden attack of labor and child birth.

There have been times in the past when children were born in bathrooms in such instances.

Disgusting, yes...but the overall theme of Heather's story is motherhood and the pain of birth.

Wow, those are really thoughtful, plausible answers. All I got out of it were cheap tampon jokes.

I'd say it had more to do with a violent miscarriage than exploding birth. Most of the time, you don't just suddenly give birth WHILE on the pot, but you CAN lose the baby on one.
Value your failures more than your successes. Successes only last until someone screws them up. Failures are forever. She left...and...I'm lost.

Another neat bathroom stall is the one in the alternate mall on the second floor up the escalators, down the hall from the restaurant with the broiled dog and the door you use the moonstone to unlock.

Anyway... The final stall (again) at the end. This time, it's open and unlocked. Walk in and release the controls, and watch as an invisible force pushes you slowly back out. Intentional, or bug? I'd have to guess intentional, if for no other reason than there's nothing else to do there.

This is near my house, I think I've posted it before, but it fits:

The food there is the lowest thing on Earth. It's lower than cockroach shit. It's so low that eating there will only cause bloody diarhea if you're AMAZINGLY LUCKY.

Happy Burger is the most fucked up place to eat on Earth, and nobody should eat what they have to offer.

You notice that Heather never actually eats anything. She doesn't have a plate in front of her, she doesn't have what's left of food there, she hasn't got a burger or fries or a drink or anything, she has ketchup. Only ketchup, and that's because they leave that shit on the table. She knows damned well not to eat there, so good for her.

And getting sucked into a toilet...so...the demonic forces of Silent Hill.....FLUSH PEOPLE LIKE DEAD GOLDFISH!? Jesus...that scares me.

I always assumed it was a glitch.

There's a hamburger place near me that has 2 pound hamburgers. No human should consume two pounds of beef in one sitting.

How could something like that be a glitch?

Eh, I don't know. I thought maybe it was an invisible wall issue. I've played games before where, if you get too close to a spot where there's an invisible wall, it pushes you away.

But maybe Silent Hill just has very territorial ghosts who have died in toilets.

By the way, does that Happy Burger sign say "Get Us Out Of The UN"? Haha.

Lmao.

Uhm, Silent Hill 3 has tons of this... it's just those random insignificant little things to make sure you're paying close attention, that's all.

Exactly.
It's a fear effect, about as deep and meaningful as it would be if featured in Resident Evil.
I dont think anymore thought was put into it than "Hey yeah, they could knock back, in SH2. Hey, and you could go back later, and it could be all bloody!"

Yeah, it's one of those things that if you don't check it out, you won't even notice it. Team Silent likes to give people little rewards for paying attention... like the bloody bathroom stall.

That's Hanako or some female ghost named similar to that right? Isn't the ghost only dwells from the second room from the right-most toilet stall?

I never noticed the other stall in the alternate mall. I shall have to pop Silent Hill 3 back in and go experience that. Maybe I'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get Heather to sit in there, lol.

I wasn't really too creeped out by the toilet. It's unexpected sounds that scare me, usually because there's no obvious source from which the noise came, like Stanley's voice in the hospital crematory.
