Don't double-post. Your avatar is too large.

God is the Holy Woman in White according to Alessa. God also appears as the Incubus according to Dahlia's beliefs. God is The Order's creation. God is epicene.

ep·i·cene adj

Belonging to or having the characteristics of both the male and the female: an epicene statue.
Effeminate; unmanly.
Sexless; neuter.
Linguistics. Having only one form of the noun for both the male and the female.

Dictionary.com

It has always had female characteristics from what we've seen. Prettymuch anyone's guess as to what it really is, native American spirit, fallen archangel, extra-dimensional entity....

The God that comes out of Alessa/Heather is more like a incubus.. While much info about the real diety is shrouded in mystery.

However, it is intresting to note, that the Alessa/Heather giving birth to God thing does not seem to reflect the entire cult's beliefs... There are those who oppose it, and do not believe that that "God" is their God.. Much like Christianity the Order's members disagree what to believe among themselves.

None of them are necessarily "false." God appears as Its summoner views it: To Alessa, It was the Holy Woman in White; to Dahlia, It was Incubus; to Claudia, It appeared as Alessa; to Walter, It would appear as room 302.

I'm glad you agree with me on the Room 302 thing.

Now, is God an actual being or simply a creation of the mind of the conjurer? Does the being predate it's conjurer...Is god the chicken or the egg?

God was born from these two people. According to The Order, God is a product of man & woman's volition.

Your avatar is still too large.

I though that God appeared in a more twisted/demonic form because the interference made it imperfect/incomplete.

The thread is marked for spoilers, making use of the tags unnecessary.

I firmly believe that the God of the Order is a concept that they have the ability to give a sort of fleshy existence to. I don't think it's really a super-omnipotent consciousness of any sort, though. I think 'God', the 'God' that we encounter, is just another monster like any other. It's considerably stronger, but each time, it's also very mortal. In SH4 it can't even defend itself.

I like that explanation. It's kinda like saying that God is just a tangible embodiment of a belief.

We all know it's much easier to support or resist a belief when you put a face on it.

It doesn't say that God felt pity.

If God already existed, how could it be born from these two people? It couldn't.
