Post subject: Was Alessa good or evil?

What do you think about what happened to Alessa? Is she really an innocent child that deserved to get her revenge in the end? Is she really a witch who used Rose & Sharon to leave Silent Hill? Did Alessa kill Rose & Sharon or are they still alive? They definitely left some questions open to make room for a sequel. In the next film I think Rose is stuck in Silent Hill. She will call out to Christopher to come there to save her. That would follow a similar plot from the second game.

I really don't think she was good or evil. Good and Evil are really a perspective or someone's view on what's good and what's evil. In the cult's eyes, Alessa was evil because she had no father. But to Alessa, they were the evil ones and they didn't have to do what they did to her. Was what Alessa did as pay back cruel? Judging the situation...well... no. I think they all deserved it myself. She wasn't evil in the first place.

But it's the cult's fault in creating the "evil" they know.

I kinda second that. Or else she left with Dark Alessa. The more I think about it the more I think about "The Ring Two". I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.

I dont think she was a witch. I think the point they tried to make was that she was really an innocent child who was basically wronged by just about everyone she encountered in SH. She made the pact with that demon/devil after she had been burned and it wasnt until then that she had powers. i think she deserved the revenge she took.

as far as if Rose and Sharon are still alive... i dont know. i like the idea that they both died in the car accident but who knows.. maybe they really are stuck in some alternate world. It sorta looked to me like maybe the dark Alessa had merged with Sharon in the church when she opened her eyes. cos i found it odd that in the end when Sharon is walking in the house, she's has this look on her face like she's got a secret.

so i think this happed

1)dark allesea (the demon) and good alesea (sharon) fused as one with alleseas body and allesea becomes one as the demon promised

2) she sucks dahlia, rose and herself into a world of fog

3) she has all she wants both of her mothers in the 1 reality her reality

After seeing it a second time, you KNOW it's the "demon" she took home.

Notice that when Rose is starting the car, Sharon opens her eyes/smiles and then the car starts. I didn't notice that she started the car til the second time I saw it.

Obviously Sharon couldn't do this.

For the cultists, Alessa was an evil person because she was created from sin as a bastard child.

But from Alessa's point of view, she is just an innocent child that was occused of being a witch. I think.

Alessa was a victim. The people that mistreated her created the nightmare. Alessa was inoccent but driven to hatred by her oppressors. The demon/devil/whatever that gave her power is evil. But not Alessa herself. Its like a little boy that gets picked on by a bully. If someone gives him a bazooka - its not really the kids fault if he blows the bully up.

Sharon definitely is now Alessa, or at least a part of her is. And that is pretty scary considering she is no longer in silent hill.

"After seeing it a second time, you KNOW it's the "demon" she took home."

Also, "only the Dark One can open and close the gates to Silent Hill", and as you see at the end: the gates did open.

But that doesn't mean Alessa isn't in there two, after all Sharon is the "everything good about Alessa" side and the one with many names said "Right now... I'm the Dark Side of Alessa".

Also, for CWilliam14: Are you good or evil? Can't she be both? Perhaps any good person can be driven to evil.

Probably not so scary. Alessa got her revenge as she wanted. I think all she wants now is a happy family and to be loved, instead of hated. When your a child, you never like it when someone hates you for ANY reason.

Alessa wasnt evil when she got burned. Afterwards though she was evil as was the being that gave her power. Sharon was good, but the two being left in Silent Hill were. Very different than Alessa in the game who stayed good even despite what happened to her. I couldnt really relate to the Alessa in the film. Look what she does to Lisa who just curious.

They never left Silent Hill. Least ways not in the literal sense. Just as the foggy and dark worlds were both creations of Alessa, the outside-of-Silent Hill world that they drove of into was just a creation of hers as well. She didn't trust anyone, but found that Rose truly loved her daughter and would do anything she would for her. Alessa found a mom that would care for her, and decided to keep her for herself. No outsiders, just Rose and Alessa/Sharon together forever.

And I don't believe she was evil, nor a witch, but she definately had some power. Granted perhaps by Silent Hill itself because of her anger and frustration, but she had power nonetheless. She split herself up so she could survive - so long as both halves of her soul were around and in bodies, her own, tortured self would keep existing. The reason why she even drew Sharon there in the first place was because Sharon's body had gotten ill, and unless Alessa got both halves together, she was going to die. A dangerous plan to be sure, but a neccesary one. Also, I believe the reason why she brought Rose and Cybil into her created world. Without them there to find her, there was a good chance the cult would have captured/killed sharon, and destroyed her completely.

Course since the cult only continued to live inside Alessa's memories anyways, that wouldn't have been the most beneficial thing for them to do...

Least, that's how I view it.

My thread got closed, so I'll just repost here.

Ok, so when Rose is talking to the evil spirit of Alessa, she says something like "I have many names."

Could this mean that the evil part of Alessa is actually the demonic entity that she made a pact with.

Also, could this entity be the GOD with many names? (Xuchilbara, Valtiel, Red God)

This may help explain the appearance of PH, since PH is related to Xuchilbara, as an avenger/punisher.

I also think that Alessa made a pact with a demon. The demon recognized her hatred, and thought that she was a good candidate who would make a pact with.
Not too sure about the God part though.

My personal opinion is that Alessa made out like a bandit. She gave Cristabella her barb-wire tampon, razor-fucked the entire cult, and, as Sharon, finally got to be with the loving mother she missed so much.

Yeah, and it only took 30 years of agony to get it.

Fair trade?

Well, consider that the alternatives included being defeated (theoretically) or held in limbo and denied her revenge forever. So yeah, I think she did okay, all things considered.
