Now there seems to be reports of late 2024. Though this could still arguably be old and a placeholder.

Re: Is OD the PT/Silent Hills successor?
What I'm afraid of is that because of this rift, SH as a concept will be sort of..... split. Kojima is......................... look, if you love him you love him. But watching the recent State of Play where there's, um.... I guess sentient puppets? And neck gloves? There's a dude with an attack gu...

Re: Silent Hill 2 remake has reached the late stage of production
The game may release this summer? "Silent Hill 2 has been rated in South Korea meaning we may be seeing it sooner than later. Although, @the_marmolade tracked the time frames of other Konami releases from rating in South Korea to release. The date range is 18th April - 23rd May. My prediction w...

Re: Silent Hill 2 remake has reached the late stage of production
Actual combat encounters may be about as much as the original. But the main gripes inherent in the trailer of QTEs and cover vaulting nurses and maybe even dodging enemies (who can't see/hear, and are designed like trapped creatures who should have trouble moving). Wish he'd been specific, but the p...

Re: Over 1 million downloads!
How do the downloads of this compare to, say, the sales of Downpour? It's hard to know, but by VG Chartz's estimates, probably around 800,000 worldwide for PS3/360, though certainly after discounts, and not including digital sales. Anyway, can't really compare it with a free download. A more apples...

Re: Over 1 million downloads!
TSM has reached 2 million downloads btw. Really proud of Hexadrive on this one and I'm still shocked Konami gave it away. Yup. 2 million now. https://twitter.com/silenthill_jp/status/1756890876272398740 I believe Konami wanted to recapture the hype of PT, and Sony as well, which would explain the P...

Re: They've changed something...
I can see why some may not be feeling the new graphics. Which I believe comes down to primarily to lighting for the most part. While the assets in the Remake are undoubtedly a generation ahead, there are drawbacks. For one, the closer you come to realism, the more some things stand out for not being...

Re: HExadrive pitched remaking SH2 before Bloober
Yeah, good point. James is not just taking a whole map off the wall. But copying it down, and updating it as he goes as he did in the original. The subtitle 'Letter from Silent Heaven' was also the title of James' scenario versus Maria's 'Born from a wish', from the director's cut version of the gam...

Re: They've changed something...
*Bump* Time to take a new look at the latest trailer... though there aren't really any cutscenes that we can really dig into this time. The focus is more on the combat, and contrary to my thoughts here , it looks like Bloober might be leaning more into the RE style of action than I'd have thought, o...

Re: HExadrive pitched remaking SH2 before Bloober
I see what you're saying. But it again depends... Moving SH2 to OTS or 3rd person camera is a big change, but it doesn't inherently change the essence of the game which is exploration of the town or enjoying its environments. So I don't have any issue with that. I think Downpour did fairly well swit...

Re: HExadrive pitched remaking SH2 before Bloober
What I prefer about Hexadrive's pitch, is the more 'retro' feel. The item displays, and the fact that James model here is closer if not more spot-on to the original, and in what feels like a twist, the environments, lighting and aesthetics are not overly as realistic or as detailed as Bloober's, eve...

HExadrive pitched remaking SH2 before Bloober
"Before working on Silent Hill: The Short Message, Konami planned to have an internal team remake Silent Hill 2 instead on a smaller scale than the current Bloober Team remake. Some proof-of-concept footage of this appeared in a recent interview. Oh, this wasn't "an internal team", it...

Re: What the 'f' stands for
Hmmm, weird... I recall some circumcision rumor was going around regarding a once "taboo" project that Hideo Kojima said he was pitching back within Konami before working on MGSV, but that didn't receive approval. Kojima in no way said anything relating to what it actually was outside of t...

Re: Konami Potentially Porting 'Silent Hill' Series
Well Konami is doing the Metal Gear ports (badly), but I'm sure the plan is the same. All games from PS1 to PS3 and if they like money, then P.T. as a contextualized bonus. There were also nice extras like the PSP Silent Hill Experience. I figure... Silent Hill Collection Vol. 1 Silent Hill 1 Silent...

Re: Silent Hill 2 remake has reached the late stage of production
The trailer could be using old footage as per DuskGolem. Also it seems that a smaller team at Bloober is still working on it. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GFWTjCCXAAA0XZq?format=jpg&name=small I expected the 3rd person OTS action. So an action-focused trailer doesn't bother me. But what is presen...

Re: TWO New SH Games In Development??? (New SH Game Rumours)
State of Play was actually pretty good. Even the other stuff I normally don't care about looked well presented, including VR. And the DS2 trailer at the end followed by the new Kojima announcement was the stuff of E3 dreams! Glad to finally get new Silent Hill news. The shadow drop of The Short Mess...

It seems that the remake soundtrack was accidentally briefly streaming online before being taken down?

Re: PSP or PS2?
From what I know, the PS2 version is graphically worse in many ways than the PSP version, so it wasn't a great port.
I had a good time with it on PSP. I'd stick with that, unless you really prefer the comfort of playing on a larger screen.
