Re: Music that resemble Silent Hill OST's
Woodkid's soundtrack for Desierto has some incredible noise tracks, very reminiscent of SH1's ambient tracks. Highly recommend it for fans of Akira's earlier ambient work. I can't find any decent youtube links, but it is on Spotify. https://play.spotify.com/album/6fxJ3av95ygf59GVWy2ei9 As a reminder...

Re: silent hills pt may have an alternate ending!!!!
The color changing flashlight happens regardless of whatever you try to put in. It's a completely random effect.
Kojima was surprised that someone had 'solved' P.T. in a day, when he expected it to take a week or so. If anything was still left to discover, believe me, it would have been.

Re: Would Silent Hill work as a TV series/miniseries?
Hmmm, I do like the idea of having Heather's story with flashbacks to Harry and Cheryl. I can see that work. James' story would work for a whole season if Angela's and Eddie's stories are fleshed out, with each of them having a more complete story than the snippets we get to see in SH2. Possibly hav...

Re: Would Silent Hill work as a TV series/miniseries?
I thought of this a while ago, especially while watching The Walking Dead. Parts of it is just them going through location A, killing x zombies, reacting in horror to Y, have some discussion or fight about something, go to location B, etc. The thing with The Walking Dead is that it gets horribly ted...

Re: Music that resemble Silent Hill OST's
Perfect Blue (Japanese anime movie which I highly recommend) has a soundtrack that at some parts is very SH-like, especially the 2 Nightmare tracks. -oGCUsSZ7fM The song 'Virtual Mima', while not as SH-like in its sound, does create a very uncomfortable ambience. This and the rest of the soundtrack ...

Re: Silent Hills may be in trouble
I don't think Guillermo Del Tore would leave the project. I think he really wants to make a game by now, seing that his InSane is in development hell. As many other people mentioned, Kojima might not even be leaving Silent Hills since he has shown interest in the series for a long time, or on the ot...

Re: Possibility of multi-platform?
You know what'd actually be funny? If Silent Hills were suddenly exclusive to the Wii U :P But joking aside, I'm not really one who minds graphical superiority/inferiority. Hell, I'd even play Silent Hills if it were produced for the PS2. It's true that better graphics create more detail and better ...

Re: Favourite OST Tracks
Hmmm, I find myself mainly a fan of ambiance... SH0: Raw Power SH1: Dead End SH2: Betrayal SH3: Split Worm SH4: Wounded Warsong SH5: Who Knows SHSM: School Nightmare (Heavily altered Angel's Scream; in-game version) SHD: Chase or Monastery Otherworld; can't choose this one. SHBoM: Water Boss I haven...

Re: Pros! What the teaser has done right! ಥ⌣ಥ
I just noticed something odd while watching a playthrough: In the Bleeding Fridge loop, with the radio going 'The father hung himself with a garden hose they had in the garage', the distorted voice from the radio says 'The father hung himself with an umbilical cord they had in the garage' Now that i...

Re: Silent Hill in First Person
You're aware that there's a 3rd person view available in Skyrim, right??? That's how I played the game, although I do need to start all over and beat it now that I have my PC connected to my TV again. will be a nice way to waste 100+ hours of my life. I was not :P the pacing and story didn't intere...

Re: Silent Hill in First Person
Technical side: Third person has a lot of camera angle issues in close quarters when there's no fixed camera. Fixed camera gives some odd control when it changes to another angle. This is why first person gets favorited for certain horror games that's set in close quarters like Outlast, Amnesia, ......

Re: New Silent Hill? Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro pro
I almost cried of joy when I read Guillermo Del Toro is involved. I was waiting so long for some news about him and his game InSane; and now this comes along. My favorite director meets my favorite game series.
I hope his work will be as intriguing as the Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth.

Re: Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
I've been looking more into Centennial Building, and there's actually a lot of strange things going on with it. The maps don't correlate with the outside of the building at all. Especially if you look at the top floor (the studio): the map shows the floor to reach the 'front side' of the building; w...

Re: Game Grumps Play Shattered Memories
I watched some episodes, including the end. Despite them saying to have spoiled it at the start, they still didn't know the ending. One of the 2 just thought of the bad ending in SH1 and plainly thought Harry was dead. They also connected emotionally really well, as one of them thought it was the sc...

Re: Samples used by Akira Yamaoka
Has anyone noticed that "The One Truth" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs3OC9osgVY&list=PLB70E3B5E2997118A ) consists mainly of the same sample that is heard midway "Lost Truth" , when all the other 3 samples (HRMONICLVR, Wave Bluer and Opus) have stopped? EDIT: It's also u...

I've never read that book in the Centennial Building, and I didn't know of it's existance untill now. Thank you for the research on it too :) It really adds some depth to the story and backstory. But I hope that there isn't yet another cult in Silent Hill, the amount of cults in Silent Hill is too d...

Soundtrack oddities and thoughts
I might have posted this before in some thread, though i'm not sure anymore. Also, I wasn't sure if this belonged in the Media section since this is about the Shattered Memories soundtrack. (also, some spoilers). Anyways, I have been listening to the soundtrack (original and 'complete') and some of ...
