Re: Silent Hill Sounds Box
I was wanting to share a strange thing I noticed when I put the Sounds Box onto my iTunes for my iPod years ago. The SH2 disc listed the songs Theme of Laura and Black Fairy as “Theme of Loura” and “Blank Fairy.” I always thought that was an odd discrepancy. I don’t remember if any other songs have ...

Re: Do all the connections between Death Stranding and Silen
This isn’t me saying that there is some hugely deep meta-connection between PT and Death Stranding; that’s obvious this many months past DS’ release. But I’ve spent a decent amount of time with PT and hundreds of hours with DS, and I think it’s also obvious that some of the ideas for Silent Hills we...

Re: PS2? PSP?
@Tabris - I haven’t played PS2 SHO in several years, but I don’t recall audio glitches; granted, maybe I didn’t recognize the bugs that were there but I definitely don’t recall the music cutting out. I had very consistent UI glitches though. I’ve been going through Origins on my PSP, and wow I didn’...

Re: This game is better than silent hill 2 imo
I didn’t play any SH’s until 2009. I searched up a no commentary run of SH1 and within minutes I knew it was for me, and for $6 I downloaded it onto my PS3. I really adore SH1. It’s so fun, and yet on the other hand it’s completely unrelenting in its aggressive atmosphere. I was so surprised by how ...

Re: PS2? PSP?
I'm about 15 years late to this party, but I've ordered a PSP for myself and you all know that Origins will definitely be one of the first things that I check out. I'm pretty excited to see how it compares to the PS2 version. I remember there being a weird bug in the weapon menus of PS2 Origins wher...

Re: Cybill in nowhere
I always found it amusing that Dahlia could incapacitate Cybil at will, but she lets Harry do his thing. Same for Kaufman. She should’ve been a psychic goalie and defended against the aglaophotis.

I was going on information blackout regarding Silent Hills once I caught wind of what P.T. was. If it's really cancelled, I guess I'll play P.T.

Re: Why Does Silent Hill 3 Have Such A Lame Ending Variety?
Brings me back to thoughts of the thread I created... but that didn't turn out so well. :| I think that SH3 alongside SHH have terrible endings. They have endings that are short by SH standards... which is crazy. I don't mind the lighthearted tone of SH3's main ending, or that it kind of lacks subst...

Re: Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
I remember reading or watching somewhere: Tomm Hulett stated that in the caverns at the end whenever Murphy is on the train ride you can see piles of coins around where you encounter that embodiment of JP. I've always been interested to see these but through Let's Plays and my own playtime, I've nev...

Re: Favourite OST Tracks
I wasn't sure where to post this, but I just wanted to bring up that I listened to the entirety of SH1's OST a few times in the course of a work week. It's definitely a lot higher on the list than it previously was. I had listened to it before, but never this focused. Each song bled into the other.....

Re: Is Silent Hill 2 Really as Bad as They Say?
SH2 was definitely a low point for the series.
There was no otherworld in it, there were only four monsters, and there's no Mary Elizabeth on the soundtrack at all!
I mean, it's playable, but a chore. Silly story and goofy characters make it even harder to get through.

Re: Silent Hill: Fisher Price!
Despite loving SM, I can very much get behind that counter-argument Kenji. What an awkward way to feel :) I'm going to go ahead and put in a vote the SM's Harry was terrible. He is so bland and colorless. I can see how that fits into SM nicely, considering the story, but bland is bland. Harry could'...

Re: Silent Hill: Fisher Price!
Maybe the audience that Climax was hoping to have gravitate towards SM were people they deemed a lot less capable than a "hardcore" gamer. From the interviews that I've read, prior to SM's release and after, it seems like they really were trying to gain the attention of the huge install ba...

Re: Was *Your* Ending Evaluation Accurate?
I actually thought that my evaluation was pretty accurate. It's possible that because of its broad generalization that I'm unconsciously "cherry-picking" out details that I agree with, latching onto them and thinking that it's actually reading me fairly well. Either way, it did pretty well...

I don't like how the Bogeyman is everywhere; especially considering he's a product of Alex from Homecoming.

I just didn't like the way she was portrayed. I didn't mean to cause a fuss. I feel like your attacking me, peeps. Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
I completely understand that it's realistic. I'm just saying that it's an artists rendering... it didn't have to be that way. It's a very apparent detail for me. Portraying her awaking in bed can be realistic without the cleavage and without the downed strap. To be honest, as a straight male, I find...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
@Rev Whenever Anne is lying in bed... a strap on her tanktop is down over her shoulder and in a separate panel she has a lot of noticeable cleavage. I don't want to come off as ignorant or anything... but I really do feel that those details were unnecessary and out of place. It's nothing major, I kn...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
I went through Issue 1 when I got home from work. It took a few minutes. Overall, I'm disappointed. Anne's Story suffers because it's working around the flimsy foundation that is SH: Downpour's narrative. Unfortunately, everything felt very shoe-horned in. The writing was uninspired. The pacing was ...
