Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
That part is totally predictable yeah, it was the first thing that came to mind when Anne said that in the game. It would have been nice if it was a total surprise. It had crossed my mind, but I was hoping for something else less obvious. Like maybe Anne was forced to turn a blind eye to some corru...

Re: This or Sh4: The Room
You know, it's always boggled my mind that people trash on Downpour for its combat system. I've yet to see a Silent Hill game with spectacular, intuitive combat. Maybe because the series has never been about the combat in the first place. Except maybe for Homecoming , I guess, which also suffers fro...

Re: This or Sh4: The Room
People complain about Eileen but I never had problems with her, she is actually helpful (Not like Maria or Ashley); I'm assuming you mean Ashley from Resident Evil 4, which confuses the hell out of me. Why are you using an example from a game that isn't even Silent Hill and not, oh I don't know, El...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Finally got around to reading Issue #2 (I'd gotten a little busy). Again, I really love the art and the coloring. It's a bit fast-paced, but I guess a Silent Hill story would be if you skip the hours of running around town doing non-narrative type stuff (try watching any of the games of cutscenes on...

Re: TGS news/info
Eh, just my personal opinion, but I'd rather wait for a completed product than for a Silent Hill game to jump aboard the "downloadable episodes" bandwagon. Unless the episodes are substantial in length, then maybe. But even then I'd hate to have to wait for a few months for a new episode t...

Re: P.T. Concept Movie
That's a fairly good point. There's only so much you can convey in a two-minute concept teaser that's riding on whether or not this game will be made.ginjajacob wrote:I agree, there was alot going on in the trailer.
But rather too much in a short time, rather than too little in a long time.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Well, to be fair, I've gone back and checked the panel in question and still find it harmless, considering that the most "cleavage" we see is a line drawn. Have you seen women's sleepwear? A lot of them are low cut like that because it's a lot more comfortable. I don't like wearing shirts ...

Re: P.T. Concept Movie
For a Silent Hill trailer, I do think that's a lot of stuffed crammed in. The toys and the ball turning into a head was a bit much. Everything else was spot on. For a concept idea being showed to a boardroom full of yay or naysayers, I'd say it works in showing what the team looks like they're capab...

There's another problem - women on the beach. We should just stay in the kitchen where we belong. Otherwise we might be accosted by the primal men who desire us!Seal of Megatron wrote:Damn wimmen, what's next, going topless on the feckin beach.

Oh, I was wondering if there was a way for you to see the character's face in the bathroom mirror since I'm not currently able to play the games myself.jdnation wrote:THe mirror in the bathroom carefully avoids showing you the face.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Oh man I was going to wear a tanktop today until I realized that it's too low cut and that's just sexualizing myself. I mean, what if men who can't control their primitive natures get aroused? Time to break out my puritan dress and bonnet!

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Speaking as a not-straight woman who is sick of female characters being sexualized in fiction -- and I do find Anne to be an attractive lady character -- I neither minded nor noticed until you mentioned it, and still don't mind because I don't see it as sexualization. I mean, if you found a little c...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
I think that was just realistic of the situation she was in, waking up in bed, as opposed to chasing a convict through a rainy forest/town. Agreed. And I hardly consider noticeable cleavage grounds for "sexualizing" a character. It's just cleavage. Women tend to have them. As a woman, fli...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Sexualization what? I read the issue twice and didn't get any vibes that Anne was being sexualized in any way.
I do agree that the art is fantastic, though.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour - Anne's Story graphic novel
Even though the release date has been set back by a couple weeks than originally planned, you can read the first few pages over here . Judging by the sample pages, this is looking pretty promising. I'm blown away by the attention to detail on the second page, where it's kind of "summarizing&quo...

Re: Kojima: "Silent Hill S could be open world"
Just imagine the player finishing the story, getting the ending and then said player is still free to explore the game after the credits... It just doesn't work for SH. Ugh yeah, no that wouldn't sit well with me, either. That just makes me think of Red Dead Redemption and while I did enjoy that ga...

Re: New composer?
I wouldn't be happy if Akira was back, it's not like his SH work was very original, it was mostly generic sounding rock tracks or ambient tracks that are samples layered on top of samples. It's rather easy to emulate his style as long as you use the same sample libraries. I'd rather have something ...

Re: Kojima: "Silent Hill S could be open world"
Nice. I liked that part about Downpour, where you had the option to explore the town rather than follow a linear storyline all the way through. Hopefully in the new game they'll be able to expand on that more.
