Re: Labyrinth progress bug introduced by new patch
Those changes aren't anything to do with Patch 1.05 - Patch 1.05 only introduced cloud save and Labyrinth fix.

Re: (Story/Art Spoilers) Thoughts on the Otherworld?
...The Hotel's Otherworld is when James arrives, though! The run-down/wet version he sees after the tape is reality and shows the hotel after it caught fire. :) https://x.com/adsk4/status/1849109176112550057 I genuinely thought the SH2R's OW is superb. Yeah, it's redder, at parts, but the overwhelmi...

Re: Pyramid Head and Maria: James' mind at war with itself.
So this is a very old thread and I'll take the heat for bumping it if need be (as the old saying goes... better to ask forgiveness than to beg for permission, I'll try and make it worth it) This is why the forum still exists - to give people a chance to dive into older theories/ideas and update the...

Re: (Story/Art Spoilers) Thoughts on the Otherworld?
The two things aren't exclusive, though. Remake is both scary and emotional, and that's a good thing. I don't think it takes much from SH3 at all. The only red/rusty bits that stand out for me is the Labyrinth, and that's when the walls of the Orosco home disintegrate into rusty prison bars to symbo...

An older save from any point prior in the game.
If you're about to kick off a fresh playthrough, you'll (probably be okay) – if you're partway through, I'd hold off playing for now.

Labyrinth progress bug introduced by new patch
The cube puzzle in the labyrinth is broken from patch 1.04.
I'd recommend not playing until this is sorted out.

This patch has introduced a progress-breaking bug in the Labyrinth. I'd hold off playing until it's sorted.

Re: TWO New SH Games In Development??? (New SH Game Rumours)
Update - SH2 debuted at #2 on the UK physical charts, behind Footbal, but ahead of DB and Metaphor! https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2024/10/uk-charts-zelda-falls-from-the-top-five-as-new-releases-shake-things-up So it looks like a success and Konami underestimated demand! And that's DESPITE a sup...

Re: SPOILERS Favorite/Least Favorite Changes from the Original
Yeah, so pleased the AD fight was a unique enemy this time around. As I think I've said elsewhere, I missed the hotel's teleporting doors a lot. It was a shame that was cut. Would've been super cool if the game had MADE you bump into further enemies and showed you that once the truth was known, the ...

The "Otherworld" achievement/trophy popping when you enter Blue Creek is such a bummer and a HUGE spoiler. I really wish it didn't pop as early as it did!

Is Silent Hill 2 Remake fantastic BECAUSE of fan backlash, or in spite of it?
You'll see plenty of fans purport that the only reason SH2R turned out as well as it did is because of the vitriolic feedback to early teasers/trailers. That if it hadn't have been for feedback on James' face, for instance, the combat, Angela's face etc., it would've been "worse". What do ...

Re: Combat Strategies? (Gameplay Spoiler)
The Lying Figure puke thing is super cheap. It depends upon the difficulty, but if you're doing okay for ammo (on standard, I always felt I had loads apart from the 30m or so after a boss fight) I'd shoot to get them down, and then finish with melee. Otherwise, remember James can dodge - I spent the...

Re: First Impressions
I think it starts out almost flawlessly, meanders a bit in the middle - Brookhaven is waaaay too long - and a couple of the cut-scenes didn't hit as hard, but it's probably as perfect as I could ever have hoped.
The reimagined puzzles are particularly brilliant!

Voice / MC in the remake - your thoughts?
I feel Luke Roberts' portrayal of James is so sympathetic, and so much more authentic. I'm not dissing Cihi but I never particularly bought into the "oh, it's a wooden performance because the character is broken etc". Roberts, on the other hand, makes it much easier to understand/see that ...

Woodside! I can't hotlink from gDrive but here's a snap: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U3UWo7u4o6JaEW4dBPVTE08rGqvtSUeo/view?usp=sharing The entire living room is set up the same, too. It's hard to get a full screenshot, but here you go - James is obscuring the sofa: https://drive.google.com/file...
