Re: Photo in the confessional booth
https://i.imgur.com/sOfDaWo.jpg Knowing Team Silent+, this is an actual person who was rendered for the game. I've been searching for the source material— I know it's out there —without luck, though. It's possible there's some clue as to who he is (or is supposed to represent) in the context of the...

Re: What does Heather see after God is defeated?
This topic was recently addressed on the Silent Hill Heaven Discord and I haven't strayed from what I said I guess a decade ago. Heather turns after hearing a baby crying and sees a newborn—just another parallel between Harry and Heather's story—and, essentially, ignores it. She knows from her and H...

Re: Smiling Picture Person
Additionally, I think it wasn't supposed to be an obvious reference to Marilyn Monroe, so some manipulation should be expected. After all, it took 8 years for someone to even discover the (uncanny) resemblance.

Re: What the 'f' stands for
>If we were to ask AlexShepard, he would most definitely say the f stands for foreskin.<
I'm so glad I wasn't around for that.
It's probably a Reddit reference.

Re: Meaning behind Save system?
>the "peeking into the brain" thing doesn't really fit Heather's story and feels more like another nod to SH2< Eh, I don't think so. It would make more sense to have a save system similar to Harry's if that were the case. But, no, the save screen itself is of Heather, just like James, star...

Re: Meaning behind Save system?
That's not what I'm talking about, though. The conversation was about whether Eddie is talking to the player, us, because the camera goes to a first person view. I'd say he's definitely not and that it's just a cinematic choice. Every other character in the game, besides Laura, has the same effect a...

Re: Bloober Team could develop more Silent Hill remakes
I really disliked repeating the same levels without much difference. It was exhausting, especially for someone who wants to examine everything, only to find little has changed. I like that idea, though—that the Subway, Forest, Prison, and Building worlds are all interconnected, and going from one ar...

Re: Bloober Team could develop more Silent Hill remakes
If SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM is ever remade, I'd appreciate it if they truncate the second half or change it entirely. Going through the same already tedious levels twice was exhausting. Surely there's a better way of doing it. As for SILENT HILL, I really wouldn't want anything changed, besides updat...

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
I definitely remember seeing one in some playthrough I watched, though I can't recall which one or where in the game it was. Droo told me months ago he'd go look for it but noooooo.

Late-night typing leads to late-night phrasing errors.
Anyway, yes, the Masons moved to Portland, Maine. I still want to find that distance sign in DOWNPOUR because that would give a clear distance between the two cities.

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
Correct. I meant it would make more sense it was Portland, Oregon, because they probably should have gotten far, far away from Silent Hill, not—what turns out to be—only a few miles away. But DOWNPOUR indicates Silent Hill is immediately south of Portland, Maine—it’s a glaring inconsistency if we’re...

Re: Meaning behind Save system?
Well, breaking the fourth wall became a conversation in another thread, regarding whether Eddie does when he’s talking to James and “goes nuts.” Also, pretty sure that scene is always available. The SILENT HILL 2 save comment is in regards to her mailbox, where there are no letters from any dead wiv...

Re: Meaning behind Save system?
I just re-read this entire thread and I didn't realize how the entire argument that, if the player is responsible for "groping around in [James'] skull," it would break the fourth wall. Except Heather breaks the fourth wall a couple times in SILENT HILL 3, as I recall. Funny, that. Anyway....

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
Oh for sure, which is why when in SILENT HILL 3 we find out the Masons "moved to Portland 12 years ago" it made sense they were in Oregon, not Maine, especially coupled with Douglas' California license plate.

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
>"Pendleton *awkward long pause*........... Get on the bus!"< That was incredibly clunky. Like, what was she getting at there? After having not played either since they were released, and relying solely on playthroughs, I think I now prefer HOMECOMING over DOWNPOUR, though that's primarily...

Re: Which ending do you prefer?
What's with people saying the aliens are on PTV all of a sudden? Feel like I've seen that alluded to several times among the community.
