Re: Stupid Puzzles
Silent Hill will never have good puzzles until they feature a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle of it.

Re: Ending Predictions
Just finish the game; you're almost there. Besides, some of the endings have somewhat wildly different outcomes from the others, depending on what you decided.

Re: To be honest I'm tired of this game
The game has sunspots just like every other SH game, but calling it straight out BAD is an obsolescent and ridiculous statement belonging to a 2005 SH forum discussion. Personally, I think I would feel extremely comfortable calling SH4 a "bad" game. And I like it. Just because there are t...

Re: *minor spoilers* Sillhuetto's Downpour Review
The lighter itself poses a HUGE obstacle; combat. There is NO way to defend yourself when wielding the little glowing item, so it's either run (which is hard with the lighter) or fight blind. I, personally, chose the latter. I never noticed, honestly, but it's good to know some people can find that...

Re: Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
I never understand you crazy people trying to find meaning in everything on Silent Hill. Prisoners were there because the bloody game is based on Jail and Convict Murphy Pendleton, aside from those, why should there be a meaning? But that is not the ace yet, some years ago when I joined there was a...

Re: Your favorite ending and why.
I liked the first one so much more, though, with that crazy fuckin' synth music and the creepy SILENT HILL vocal. Also, where the hell have you been? D: Goodness, I feel even worse responding to this a month after the fact... Definitely, the original was wonderful, and 2 might be the weakest (besid...

It is a common issue in all versions of the game. It just wasn't well optimized.

Re: [Petition] Silent Hill 4: The Room HD Edition
If Konami was truly interested in releasing SH4 in HD, they would have done it for the HD collection. If Konami was to be persuaded by an online petition, it would have to have a massive amount of support in order for them to be convinced of handing off the assets and budget to a team to work exclus...

It may not be exciting, but we got to see PS1 Harry arrive with aliens to take James away. That is AMAZING.Ryantology wrote:I guess we have decided that the second game's UFO ending sucked. Which is fine, because it is certainly the dullest UFO ending in the series.

Re: 7.1 Sound on SH2
Do you have the stereo setup to support 7.1 audio through your computer?
If you just have headphones or normal pc speakers, I would assume that is why it knocks it back to stereo settings.

Re: Point of No-Return
There is a point at the far north of the town that you will be asked to go to. It requires you to cross a bridge to go to that section of the town. Going to that story point will be the point where you can no longer explore the town. Tie up any and all loose ends before you go to that story point. : )

Re: Got Downpour? Want to share impressions? Post them here!
I hate, hate, HATED the storyline. So unoriginal and bland and super duper lame. What is every silent hill just going to be main character X feels guilty over the death of relative Y? Is that all developers can come up with? A clone of a clone of SH2? Travis, Alex, Cheryl, and now Murphy? Let me gu...

Re: Framerate
It might help some, but I wouldn't expect it to fix all of the problems. It's just not optimized as well as it could be, and the open world / streaming information bits just aren't up to a point where it's entirely stable.

Never an issue. They would've just changed Murphy's looks afterwards as a lot of people when they can't accept something, they invent a whole reality and imagining himself to be still in his late 20's, early 30's to make the story of his son's death more fitting. It would have been an issue because...

I must say, I'm really shocked at how positive your impressions of the game are, Ryan. Not that you wouldn't have any praise for it, but it was certainly more than I would have assumed would come from you. Really glad to hear you enjoyed so much of the game. I thought it was a solid entry into the f...

Re: People Being Sick In The Game ?
Y'all are forgetting something important. We, the players, can't smell Silent Hill. I'd say the vast majority of those locations would get me nauseous. The next silent hill title needs to include a book of scratch and sniff stickers that I'm prompted to use upon entering certain locations. T...

I hope this turns out to be a really good piece of tie-in content for the game.

I agree. On both accounts.AuraTwilight wrote:That makes no sense.
The clothes he finds are just the civilian clothes he was wearing the day Charlie died.
Unless you provide some sort of reason that your "theory" is remotely possible, I see no point in this thread.
