The Great Knife is a blade from a Great Scissor

Masahiro Ito is still revealing things that I don't think anyone has noticed about this game almost 20 years later.

This doesn't really change much but it's pretty neat.

Re: PS2? PSP?

If I remember correctly there's something about... like... Alessa doing a creepy smile in the PSP version that they changed to be a more neutral face on PS2 because it was clearly a movie inspired thing originally? I can't recall if that's actually true or just something I remember being said. I hav...

I plan on keeping my PS4 either way, so it's fine. Though if it is possible to transfer, I may do it.

Re: Sam Barlow Pitching Shattered Memories Follow-Up

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but his wording here is actually very misleading in an unfortunate way. He clarifies here https://twitter.com/mrsambarlow/status/1313962457648582664 and here https://twitter.com/mrsambarlow/status/1314179266641305602 that he isn't actually pitching a Silent Hill gam...

Re: Silent Hill 4: The Room has been rated for PC by PEGI

Just to clear up confusion this is not a new PC port of SH4. This is a rerelease of the original PC port, that's generally what GOG does. I wouldn't expect Origins, Shattered Memories, or Downpour to show up as those don't have PC releases. Homecoming might have a chance, as would 2 and 3 presumably...

Re: Why you do absolutely NO work, on analysing this damn ga

I had actually written a two paragraph post in response to this earlier but then my food arrived and when I got back I closed the tab without realizing I hadn't posted anything. Basically same idea as what you said though, Vixx. This is the second time you've shown up and implied people here are at ...

Re: Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition

The HD Collection got a patch (on PS3, at least) that fixed the most glaring issues. It's still not perfect and the fix sometimes causes new issues (though my instance of blue fog in SH3 doesn't seem to be common), but most of the immediate visual bugs due to a lack of log were fixed by adding in mo...

Re: Game is about Adam not Alex

Considering that people haven't really talked about Homecoming on here in years, I don't know who you're referring to that is complaining about Alex not being a soldier, but personally I never had a problem with that plot point. I think Homecoming has a lot of flaws, but most of it's ideas were fine...

Re: AMAZING Grate Debate - P.T. video

Grate Debate do a lot of amazing work, their videos are super entertaining and I think they add a lot to this overall fanbase. I think I disagree with pretty much all of their major theories, though. I think they were off base with their attempt to solve the final puzzle in PT (and the amount of peo...

Re: Eastern religion element in the subway page on floor que

There are definitely some things in the games that aren't related to the themes or story and just "creepy stuff", probably moreso in SH3 than the first two. That said, while it's not as clear a direct link, the town of Silent Hill does tend to make people relive certain moments and traumas...

Re: Silent Hill 2 PC

Not to be rude, but these questions will become clear the more you play the game. I'd even argue that there is no real "good ending", as many people prefer what you would normally consider a "bad ending" for this game's story. It's really just different flavors of ending. A lot o...

Re: Chrisophe Gans Announces New Silent Hill Movie

Well, on the grounds that it will help pump life into the franchise, I'm glad. I'll admit, I am not a fan of EITHER Silent Hill movie. His was definitely better than Revelation, for sure, but I still really dislike his view of the series. Even his statement on it now "a small American town, rav...

Re: New Unseen content from PT

Ah, yeah, I've been subscribed to this guy for awhile. He's pretty great. The amount of hidden unfinished stuff he's found in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 is ridiculous. If anyone here likes his work on PT, I definitely encourage leaving a comment or liking the two PT videos he has, since he's mentio...

Re: Harry Mason Vs. Pyramid Head

Yes, the Pyramid Head of SH2 is exclusive to James but he took the image for it from the executioner from the town's history. Not that I'm particularly eager to defend Origins or the overuse of Pyramid Head in the series following 2, but you can technically say that portrayals of him beyond 2 are of...

Re: Silent Hills cancelled

I have a VERY hard time believing that Kojima or Konami would ever want to work with each other again. Even if the tidbit about Death Stranding "redeeming" Kojima in Konami's eyes is true, I can't imagine the same would be true the other way around after the way Konami treated him. I think...

Re: Junji Ito

I didn't mention Konami, so that's not the point. What I'm saying is that DelToro is bitter towards Silent Hill fans as he keeps opening the wound. Is there any other reason to open up that wound again and rub our noses in it? To the devs: Please stop opening the fucking wound; either that or actua...

Re: Silent Hills cancelled

Metroidvanias unfortunately don't appeal to the console crowd anymore. That's why it's better for the games to be released on handhelds. Fuck that digital-only crap. The man behind the Metroidvania titles just had his spiritual successor be a blazing success on Kickstarter. He claims the publishers...

Re: Silent Hills cancelled

Honestly, when I do take a step back, yeah I was worried that Silent Hills wasn't going to be what I wanted from a Silent Hill game. I had my doubts about Kojima's ability to stay true to the type of horror I expect from it and to be in any way subtle. But, damn man, I still wanted to see what he co...

Re: Silent Hills may be in trouble

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but Del Toro is also saying it's not gonna happen. https://twitter.com/tvsmatthackney/status/592177537427447808 That combined with PT being taken down is pretty much the nail in the coffin for me. Is this the first time we've had a major Silent Hill title ann...
