I have some questions about the soundtracks I definitely need answers to! I really want to purchase the genuine soundtracks and not a bootleg, so i may need help.
1) How many pages are in the booklets of the soundtracks and what sort of pictures/credits are inside?
2) what is the name of the catalog number/distributer/label of the soundtracks?
3) Howcome if I look on the net the album cover for SH2 has maria and heavens night, yet in the booklet of the UK edition of SH2 the soundtrack has the same cover as the game case (a blue line with Laura's face on a black background)... which is the correct version and which should I buy???
4) Howcome in the booklet of SH3 uk edition the album cover of the OST is a black background with the SH3 logo in the middle, yet on the internet the album cover is of Heather against a wall... which version should I buy?
5) where are the best places to find these soundtracks?
6) Do all versions of SH4 soundtrack come with two discs?
7) How can I guarantee I have got a genuine version of the soundtrack?
what are the disc designs like for the OST's?
I will be ever so greatful for the answers to these questions and any other help! I would very much appreciate if anyone could send me pictures of the album booklets and discs of the GENUINE ost's. I am very worried about buying bootleg soundtracks!

Does anyone happen to have music ripped from SH3 which doesn't actually appear in the game? A while back someone gave a link to a site containing ripped music from SH3, and there was like 1 or 2 genuinly great tunes that were nowhere to be found on either the OST or the actual game (Silent Hill 3). It'd be much appreciated if anyone who happens to know the site (assuming/hoping it still exists) sends a link
BTW, the no downloading policy only accounts to commercialy released stuff, right?

I run, and it puts me underground,
But there's no regret, and no roads left to run...

i have it. there are unofficial discs of the ambient tracks that are played during gameplay. Unfortunately the forum doesnt allow trading of music on here, but add me to msn if you want and i can send it there.

It's most commonly called "Nursery Cryme," as I've titled it in my own recordings of the non-soundtrack musicks.

I have it. I have all of the non-soundtrack music from all four games, recorded by, well, me. I'm pretty sure I've titled it "Reconciliation," and it's just under a minute long.
K.: You probably have it. If you do, could you upload it for me? Since it's not on the soundtrack, it's fair game to give away. I'd do it myself, but you know how slow my internet is.

It is only fair use if he owns the game the music is on, thus he palyed for the rights to the music. Infact it is fair use for all soundtrack songs too if they are in the game and you payed for the game.00000 wrote:I have it. We scientists are clever — too clever — are you not satisfied? Is four square miles in one bomb not enough? Men are still thinking. Just tell us how big you want it.

Sure thing, sweetie-pie. All four ending songs, then? As they're quite brief in length...00000 wrote:I have it. I have all of the non-soundtrack music from all four games, recorded by, well, me. I'm pretty sure I've titled it "Reconciliation," and it's just under a minute long.

Thanks to Krist., here it is--along with a few other tracks. "Reconciliation" is the during the conversation with James & Mary in bed; "Irony" is after the Maria ending; "Farewell" is after the Leave ending.

Now you are paying for the all copyrighted material in the game, which means soundtrack bitmaps and all the such. Although it is illegal for thomas to distribute those sound tracks even if someone else owns the game at least in the states although it is questionable. He can however copy it to other media for his own use or archive purposes. Copyright laws are a terribly complex thing and I don;t claim to know too much about it but there are like 5 or 6 rules you can hold above all others as they pretain to sounstracks, cds, and other audio media forms.shua wrote:You're not paying for the soundtrack when you buy the game, though.
