Lakeview Hotel Fire

I know that during Silent Hill 2 the Lakeview Hotel is burnt down, but does anyone know how the fire was started or perhaps what caused it?

It's something I've been pondering for awhile now.

It burn't down one year ago, and was caused by "Johnny, one hot guy."

I wish they had more information on that guy or his purpose of burning down the hotel.

It wasnt? I dont exactly remember reading anything about it when i played the game. If it wasnt a person, then what was it?

nur_ein_tier has provided a screenshot of it. It's a heater that is cleverly named Johnny. For those who don't speak/read German, it says: "On the back is a small letter: I'm Johnny, one hot guy."

And you have to go back there after you get the flashlight again, not the first time through (second open door on the left after you take the employee elevator down) or he won't see it. a lot of work for a stupid thing like that. ^_^

That's because it won't even let you examine it when you're down there because you put your flashlight on the shelf. you have to make a huge sidetrip to go back and see it.

so if it burned down the alternative hotel is actually what it really looked like to james afterward near the ending??
he saw it as it was still in good condition that was part of his dillusions??
