Monsters so far
So I've decided to make a little generalization about already demonstrated monsters from Shattered Memories.
1). Raw Shock (official name)
That is the one that has a minimum of recognizable features and that was shown first. Raw Shock is a RAW material from which new types of things will evolve sooner or later.
2). Wrinkly Shock (unofficial name)
While Raw Shocks have pretty smooth skin, this one seems to posses a wrinkled unhealthy looking one. Like they was burned or seriously hurt some other way.
3). Emaciated Shock (unofficial name)
Those guys looks almost like skeletons with that thin waists of them. Hungry horror? They also have some weird appendixes on their shoulders.
4). Sexy Shock (unofficial name)
The most interesting so far. Those are the lady's man nightmares: breasts, familiar weird lips, foots transformed into heeled shoes and bloody seams suggesting skirts or shorts. Sexy Cybil fans should be ready to face those girls as well I guess .

I honestly don't see much difference between the original Raw Shocks and the other Shocks... except the Sexy Shocks seem to be well on the way to becoming Bubblehead nurses again.

I will be highly disappoint if the monsters are the same textures draped over different skeletons. Hopefully these are early-game shots.

When I first looked through this thread, I thought, but these are all pics of the same monsters, I didn't even notice the difference until I started reading. I'm not sure how I feel about that, I mean, the similarities, not my lack of observational skills.
Yeah, I am really hoping for a bit more variety than this. I sort of like the idea of them chamging subtly, but geez, I hope there are monre monsters.I will be highly disappoint if the monsters are the same textures draped over different skeletons. Hopefully these are early-game shots.

Hmm... Something makes me think that these monsters will 'evolve' as we progress through the game.
I remember back when Silent Hill 2 was released one of the developers said to the effect that the monsters are clay-like without any definite form, and it was the characters that give them shape. If Shattered Memories is supposed to change depending on what you do, then it's possible that the monsters will change as you go. They'll take a more definite shape in the long run.

^I think it was confirmed in the SHH interview that Pyramid Head was most definitely not in this game.
Y'see, if that's the full extent of the monster evolution I'm going to implode. Those are nice an' all, but I was hoping for something with a little more depth. Vaguely indistinct mud men aren't quite my idea of the game shaping itself to scare me.
This is, for me, the first sign that this game may be really, really bad. D:
Of course, this is just me overreacting, but I ignorantly sat threw the signs Homecoming gave off and I will not be fooled again.

Ominously enough, they said that if Pyramid Head were to be in the game, they would have a good reason to put him in there.Hannah wrote:^I think it was confirmed in the SHH interview that Pyramid Head was most definitely not in this game.
If my guess is correct, they'll evolve far more than that. The footage that we've been shown so far with the monsters are only the beginning stages, 20 minutes max.Y'see, if that's the full extent of the monster evolution I'm going to implode. In fact, as the game progresses, I don't think there will be a single Shock monster appearance-wise. Please let my guess be right.

Is that a Wrinkly Shock or did u miss something bigger?
Anyway, they could've made the mouth of Sexy Shock bigger and with slits on the sides of their mouth. (Reference: Kuchisake-Onna)
