Haha, I just "uncovered" the silly ending and I loved it! Now I see what you did there...

So ... this projection of Silent Hill was Cunningham's, not Murphy's, as evidence by the fact she saw Murph as the Boogeyman? Right?

But ... how come Murph saw the Boogeyman himself on several occasions?

If I sound confused it's because I am. Heh.

Murphy had his own Bogeyman, Napier.

Indeed. But that doesn't explain how Cunningham's and Murph's Boogeyman looked exactly the same??

Well their Silent Hills over lapped and Bogeyman was a shared monster, so its possible that it was a combination of ideas from them both, built into one figure, rather than one projection from Cunningham alone.

The Boogeyman was basically acting like the Abstract Daddy. One monster appearing in otherwise fairly distinct worlds.

sorry if this has been addressed already, I couldn't find it through searching, but why is Murphy in prison? I can't figure out what it is he did to get there. And would they really put him in the same place as the guy who killed his son?

1) He stole a police car and took it on a joy ride.
2) Napier wasn't convicted of killing Charlie, he was in prison for other child attacks.

Both questions are addressed fully if you look through this thread/other threads.

Ah, I see. Yeah, there's a LOT of stuff to look through. Figured this would be easier, since the search function wasn't turning anything up for me.

With the two interpreting them differently, much like James and Angela towards the Abstract Daddy :)

Sorry if this has already been asked....but I distinctly remember being promised that Downpour would have some clear explanations of the geographical distances and orientations-to-each-other of the previous games. Did I miss several dozen memos or something?

^It was on another forum. I'll see if I can find it and post a link. Am I the only one who remembers this??? I was so excited, and waited the whole game for some mention of ANYTHING geographical that was significant to the other games, but I didn't really find anything.

Now that you mention it, I vaguely recall someone or something saying that before the game was released. Don't remember the details though. :?

What does everyone think about these concept pictures of the Bogeyman?

Some look rather creepy, but don't fit the mold quite as well as the final version, I think.

Stupid but... Weeping Bats? I think I never encountered such monster. They're the ones that are tied and roll around spitting at you?

^They were the monsters that were fond of hiding on ceilings and undersides of bridges, yeah. I didn't really understand the name either.

^ When I said stupid, well, it was actually about my question, heh.

Wow, I'm surprised (and quite disappointed) though. I missed every Weeping Bat. Never saw any of them in my first playthrough...

^Really? You face a bunch in the mines. It's hard to believe you have never encountered one.

As for the concept art of the Bogeyman: I personally prefer the 6th and final versions the most out of them all.

I think remember hearing that the term 'weeping bat' is slang for prisoners, but I could be mistaken.

^ I remember some bats from the caves, when you're riding the train you know... But apart from that nothing. Never found any.
