Silent Hill Heaven

I was wondering, how does Heather know it's broken. It's sort of a funny idea, I mean do all SH protagonists go to locksmith school?

I've always wondered this myself. I personally probably couldn't tell the difference between a broken and a locked door. lol

I just like to imagine the handle broke off when they try to open it, and they just slide it back on while glancing around to see if anyone noticed.

Pretty sure it's just a way for the game to tell you as the player not to bother trying to find a way to open them.
