I agree. Problem I have with it is that, as far as we know, Vincent wouldn't have been exposed to that trope.

He lived in the Otherworld, under the watchful eyes of a cult. It just struck me as bizarre that he would be aware of it.
His ability to drive also pissed me off.
Fair point.

The way I interpreted it is that he was raised with the Order trying to teach him about how to behave in the real world, but of course there's not much evidence for that.

There seems to be plenty of shit just lying around in the Otherworld, he could have read about the burial ground thing.

Does Silent Hill have a town library?

It's a distinct possibility.

Agreed. My favorite line in the whole movie is when Heather asks Leonard where her father is--she says something about how she was told she'd find him in Silent Hill, and he responds with (and if you know the correct wording, please correct me): "Well, there are many Silent Hills; are you certain he's in this one?"

"Go to Hell!"
"Can't you see? We're already here."

I thought that scene looked very cool, how the line was delivered and how her voice sounded demonic and almost like she was crying. Plus, that scene just laid it out for other sequels.

Also

Heather: I just wanted to see if he need some help.
Douglas: Some people are beyond our help.

I thought this was sad because it's true.

Heather: Getting a bit gray there dad.
Harry: Your fault.

And I thought this was cute.

"Alessa?"
"Daughter. Sister. Self."

Honestly, the whole dialogue of the carousel scenes were awesome to me.
"A detective? Really? Well, nice talkin' to ya."

I really liked, when Leonard wants to kill her, and he says something like "you're gonna die". And then Heather says "Not today" and bang ! Really cool !

"You're a demon! You must be destroyed!", to be precise ;). I have to admit I quite like this whole scene with McDowell, even if it is cheesy and pointless just as every other dialogue in this movie.

I honestly can't think of my fave line.
I have to say however I loved "We're already here" the way all the background music and noise stopped as she said it, then BOOM the carousel descends!

"Fuck Facebook." The whole bus sequence had some of my favorite dialogue. Some I know hated the inclusion of real world social networking, but it fit well there, considering Vincent's character and his assumptions about Heather as a person.

"Your roots are showing."

Some subtle theme-stating that was sorely lacking elsewhere.

After Heather's speech and Vincent says 'How can I follow up with that?' Only good line he had honestly.

I like to pretend this movie doesn't exist seeing as they ruined the whole point AND my favorite character.
I wish people roleplayed more.

Heather: "So it IS a key. What does it unlock?"
Leonard: "The true nature of things."
"In the end it's only round and round, and round."
