Yeah, Suikoden was the most likely thing, though it the "over 18" age mention that is throwing us off... The series has historically been rated as suitable for teen audiences. An 18+ rating in Japan is usually reserved for more violent or mature content or sexy, or straight up horror games.

My gut is telling me this game is close. In some ways it's felt close for almost 11 years, but recently it feels like an announcement really is around the corner, especially as we get closer to Christmas. It seems very Konami to try and capitalize on the holiday season. Come on baby, give us that reveal!

That the mystery game is getting its own separate thing means Konami is trying to make a focus on it.

Speculation on the Kojima teaser has people examining the symbol, with some believing the style resembles the symbols used in Death Stranding, suggesting this is Death Stranding 2. That Kojima is having online meetings with more creative's such as Jordan Peele also suggests his big game is DS2 as leaked by Norman Reedus. So then, what is Overdose? Is that his smaller project? The one mentioned before the Microsoft Cloud deal?

No confusion. It's "not 18+". In contrast, the Microsoft one is for 18+.

The pose he makes could be a reference to a scene from Lycoris Recoil episode 4. The poster is also on his T-shirt, so it is definitely part of a marketing campaign that is teasing his next thing.

I no longer believe a SH revival is happening. It may have been considered at some point but until I actually see something confirmed to be real, I am no longer persuaded it's anything but a pipe dream.

If we do get to the end of the year and nothing is announced by then, I'm going to assume that the projects that leaked are dead and any active Silent Hill revival is currently in very early stages or hasn't been started yet.

Yoshida of Square Enix said a new FFXVI trailer will come next month with a final release date. More hints of another Sony event in October?

Square is more likely to do that closer to release where they can show lots of finished and final content. The only other one is FF7, but that franchise is its own thing at this point. Likely need to announce the release date for XVI for preorders etc. But they will likely focus on Diofield and Valkyrie and other smaller titles before next year.

There are rumors of a new PS5 sku with a detachable disc drive. Doubt that is a device coming this year, but Sony must be exploring avenues to get the manufacturing costs down and more devices made. Having both your digital and physical options coming off one assembly line helps...
