Insider says a summer PS5 showcase is coming before E3. I wouldn't be surprised at all if more details about SH2R and Townfall happen then. And maybe The Short Message drops if it doesn't come before then (and if it's still happening).

Yeah I'm hoping this new influx of games revitalizes the franchise. I don't necessarily want/need the Resident Evil yearly release treatment but I'd like to not have to wait a decade for a game again.

I actually don't need to see much more of SH2R before its release. I don't want much to be spoiled, and trailers have a tendency to give away too much.

Give me a release date announcement with largely the same footage we've already seen and I'll be fine with that.

I expect that Bloober has not made many changes plot wise. The most significant will be in cutscene and acting direction. So I don't think there is much to spoil aside from anything new they add or redesign significantly that they won't show. But I expect lots of 'member berries in the trailers from throughout the game, and gameplay previews only for the first area of town and the Apartments.

I'm interested in seeing the rest of the cast in their new designs.

Yeah, i don't think too much will change either, except for maybe updating some things, both gameplay and storywise, to fit a more "modern" standard, especially since the OG Silent Hill 2 released in 2001. A lot changes in 22 years, especially in gaming, and i hope everyone keeps that in mind when playing it.

I tried to tell y'all 6 months ago not to get your hopes up about The Short Message.

I think people should stop expecting The Short Message entirely tbh. I think whatever shuffling Konami did behind the scenes when they backed out of the State of Play likely involved dropping the plans for whatever that was in favor of the big livestream.

I honestly wouldn't expect to hear anything more about Silent Hill for a few more months.

We don't know what it is though. The current theory is that it was some kind of downloadable demo/short story that would have tied into the announcements in some way. Might have made sense when they were going to reveal stuff on the State of Play but didn't make sense when they chose to go with their own longer dedicated streamed event. It being rated definitely meant something was there but not necessarily that it'll see the light of day.

It was never officially announced in any way and the leaks about it were from two years ago when it was part of a cancelled advertising campaign. If it was gonna be something, they'd have included it in their big Silent Hill announcement stream. It being removed from an early rating listing means nothing for the announced projects. Hopefully we'll one day see what they made for it. It'd be cool if it was expanded into a longer/fuller thing but I'm continuing to expect nothing from it personally.

Usually a rating is given for a project that is complete or close to completion.

It's not impossible that it was shelved afterwards, but it's rather odd. This either suggests that it was intended as a small P.T. type reveal that was then discarded as the marketing decisions changed.

Or it's possible that the title is being changed or some new content was added requiring recertification, or on the more optimistic front, it turned out really well, and Konami decided to expand its scope into a more full fledged title, which would be a very optimistic way of looking at it.

Nice. They confirmed 1st and 3rd party games and being a showcase, this will be the big one for the year.

With the Activision-Blizzard/Microsoft acquisition pretty much confirmed to be in jeopardy, Sony probably wants to make an impact now.

PSVR will also be part of the thing and I'm highly curious to know if Townfall or Ascension or some new smaller SH game will support VR. But I think SH2 Remake is a given, especially given the exclusivity deal. Chances are only one SH title will be in the showcase and SH2 is the obvious pick. Konami may show off the others at Keighley's show or do their own thing.

I'm guessing that F will probably be a no-show and something saved for Tokyo later in the year. But I'll be happy to be wrong.
