SH3 Brookhaven Door Code Glitch?

I am on my second playthrough of SH3. I believe it's on the third floor where the storage room savepoint is; that's where I'm at.

I'm trying to get past the locked door with the keypad. I'm playing on normal difficulty & have solved the riddle, yet the door will not open.
I got "8634" as an answer. Through irritation I checked a couple different walkthrough's, and they also presented "8634" as the code for the normal difficulty setting.

Am I doing something wrong; perhaps I'm overlooking a detail?
Or is this really a glitch?

EDIT: Extra information; I am on the PS2 version.
I've put in the code for all three difficulties.
Don't tell me I have to start over...

EDIT 2: This is killing me. All of my googling has yielded 0 results for anybody else experiencing anything like this.

Never had that happen. Did you try loading from an earlier save (like a few saves back) to see if it still happened? Beats starting completely over.

I have only one save file.
I never understood why people made multiple save files; now I do.
Hehe.

This dilemma is solved.
It's entirely due to my stupidity that I was having trouble.
