Homecoming: Backtracking before Amnion?

Post by Yuki »

Okay, so I'm at the Amnion fight and I keep dying because I only have the Pipe, Rifle, Dagger, and Pistol (with 1 health drink, 1 first aid kit, and 5 shots left in my rifle). I thought I'd go back to Room 310, the locked one earlier in the Underground Lair, so I could get my Axe and the final Serum, yet the door I came through that's clearly marked as openable on the map is "jammed".

My save is in the room before the puzzle room for Amnion, and nothing's been touched yet. Did I pass a point of no return, or is it a glitch? Am I forced to fight Amnion with just what I have?

Yeah, but it is also possible to beat him without being hit.

It is, but I'm having trouble because I find the controls unresponsive, so I was hoping to get some more weapons (in particular, the shotgun).

Well, if you find it hard to do that (or your controller/the game is giving you issues), then the only way to make sure you have more items is to restart the game. There is no going back after leaving the room where the cop is (I can't recall his name at the moment).

If you're having problems then I think you're pretty much screwed, my friend.

Amnion isn't so hard, in fact pretty much none of the bosses are THAT hard save for maybe the first one, in the hotel, you know? And Scarlet. On my first playthrough she was a bitch...

I remember a similar thread but that involved SH3's God. The person was in a tight situation just like yourself but he/she managed to beat the game. What's annoying is that in Homecoming you can't skip the cut-scenes so that can make your head explode with boredom/rage. I don't really believe in luck but it seems that's the only thing you need right about now...

You can skip cut-scenes in Homecoming.

^ Oh, that's right. You can skip the normal cut-scenes but the ones that want the player to pick one of the two options you can't. I mixed the whole thing...

At least I FINALLY managed to beat it--the Ceremonial Dagger made it easier than using the Steel Pipe.

The dagger destroys everything in the game and is the weapon to go to in any circumstance. I'm not sure how I forgot about it (it has been awhile I guess), but it seems you figured it out and beat it anyway. Congrats! :)

Congrats, man!
The knife is indeed the best weapon of the game. It has been a while, I don't remember much. I used to help some members with combos and melee tactics. There's even a lost thread by me somewhere about the "Needler one hit kill tactic"
