Silent Hill 2 remake has reached the late stage of production

It's coming. Hopefully Konami will deem us worthy of seeing a build of the game that isn't older than the original game at some point....what a frustrating company.

A Mexican retailer has a release date of 30 May, 2024.

This is good news because a) placeholder dates are generally the end of the month, b) May has 31 days, c) the 30th is a Thursday, and d) games tend to be released on Thursdays nowadays.

You can pre order the game now on Wal-Mart and Best Buy. However there is still no release date.

Return to Silent Hill is starting to get promoted so I suspect it's coming fairly soon. October would make the most sense to increase interest around Halloween.

I suspect SH2R will release sometime around then too to tie in. Maybe September? That's when the original was released in North America.

For reference, the first Silent Hill movie was released in April 2006. Silent Hill Origins was released in November 2007. Silent Hill Homecoming was first released in September 2008 in North America.

Worth noting is that the movie was released on July 8, 2006 in Japan, according to IMDB. Konami's Silent Hill 1 novel was released in September 2006.

Silent Hill: Revelations was released in October 2012. Silent Hill HD Collection was released in March 2012.

Personally, September or October for SH2R and April 2025 for RTSH.

Rumors seem to be shifting from a Sony event this month being a full showcase to now being a State of Play. I guess it's possible that SH2 still gets featured, but this makes it feel less likely in my opinion.
