Which ending are you looking forward to?

It's true: Bloober Team is remaking Silent Hill 2. Talk about it in here to keep Remake talk separate from the original!

Im hoping for a longer more detailed "Rebirth" playthrough. I'd love if they have context to James collecting cult items and trying to Pet Cemetery Mary. It always seemed to me as if James is repeating his journey through Silent Hill but this time he has some knowledge of the forces of Silent Hill.

This for sure. Old one did seem slightly tacked on but it was a ng+ feature anyway. Didn’t they say we’re getting new endings too?

New endings in addition to all the originals, yeah. Mateusz Lenart confirmed the originals on his Twitter page: 👽 🐕 🚸 💧 🕯 👱‍♀️

No hints or clues as to what, or how many, new endings will be added.

Interesting to note. Konami used the phrase "new endings" with the announcement of the Greatest Hits edition. That included the UFO ending and the ending for the 'Born From A Wish' scenario. This emoji spread doesn't really confirm 'Born From A Wish' as being included or a "new ending" in the same way the Greatest Hits version marketed it as.

I really want them to flip the script on the UFO endings and make one a high budget Micheal bay looking ass thing. They are usually just characters cut out and simple. It'd be funny as hell if they went all in on one 🤣. I do wonder what a new ending would look like.

I'm personally hoping for an ending that sort of teases a remake of SH1. It could be a subtle reference to something "terrible that happend in the town's past" without elaborating much further. It's difficult to avoid it coming off as cheesy though.

James walks off in the distance disappearing in the fog until he's gone. Just an empty environment is in focus until a brown haired man walks into view and looks at the camera: "Have you seen a short, brown haired girl, around 7 years Old?" Cut to black:Coming Soon 202X!

They'd have to throw in Silent Hill 1s iconic start up sound as it fades to black too. Can't find a video but you know the "BONG!" Sound when you start up a game. They also should keep SH1s sound effects for picking up items and what not instead of just going with the standard sounds that started with SH2. I love them too, and I even prefer them but I like that the first game is distinct in this regard. Okay way off topic....

Don't be. They are the most beautiful sounds ever.

The SH1 startup sound is more like a scary “DUNNN!” noise, but I know what you mean. It was the perfect sound to introduce the game as it primed you for what was to come.

Honestly, I hope I'll stumble across one of the entirely new ones.

Though I'll most likely get the In Water ending as I tend to do because I'm always stingy with health items, so I'm always running around injuried until I absolutely have to heal.

My survival horror conservative playstyle with early harder-than-neccesary struggles always finds me at the finale with stacks of high end ammunition and health kits galore, ready to completely unload on the final boss. Poor bastards never see me coming... Feels good man!
