Ok even though i beat this game a million times i've gotten the "in the water" ending but i was watching my friend play and he beat and got that ending...so james drove his car off the road and into the water right?

but what mary was saying i didnt really get...and does she say that in evey ending you get? i've only got the Maria ending and Leaving ending and i never really listened to what she said....

It´s probably the highlight of the game man, you should really pay attention to it.

Actually i do pay attention to sh but not the endings i guess only to Maria...because she starts coughing near the end so it seemed that she was getting sic...probably how Mary got sick.

i think the letter she gives you is the whole version of the letter you have to start with. they both start exactly the same, but the one you get at the end is longer. during the course of the game, the letter you have gets shorter, and then it eventually disappears, perhaps it started off complete but by the time james got it and read it it had shortened? a stupid theory i know but theres no harm in just guessing is there.

What I don't understand with the "In Water" is the ending music.
Why the heavy metal guitar in water?
Maybe not much reason, but I surely felt awkward after I "solved" the first time.

Think about the song tho Heavy Metal spawned what? Death Metal, there is death ok that was really corny but maybe it was just a cool song with no place in the game the only ending that you don't hear the letter in is rebirth

In Water is my favourite ending. In a way there is a kind of romantic thing about a couple dying together, it sorta preserves their love forever in the afterlife. I bet James and Mary could be together without the sickness getting in the way.

It's a castoff song for a crappy ending.

In Water would be a much better ending if the dog popped up and laughed at you, like in Duck Hunt when you screw up.

Angels Thanatos is a good tune. Reminds me of Pelican a bit. Perhaps its a little otu of place on the soundtrack, but I'm not bothered.

I am. It was like tossing a Dimmu Borgir track in the middle of a Pink Floyd album. It's not just out of place on the SH2 soundtrack, it would be out of place on all four soundtracks. It's even out of place in its own context. Raspy, distorted heavy metal isn't an optimal choice for a scene that supposedly intends to convey tragic romance.
